About the Position:

In the role of Program Support Technician within the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry, you will be responsible for ensuring the precision of offender data collected through registrations. This includes maintaining adherence to the regulations governing the Registry by reviewing, researching, and analyzing information from various databases and sources in accordance with the relevant laws.

Responsibilities will also encompass handling incoming mail, performing data entry tasks, and managing phone inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient understanding of general office practices and procedures.
  • Competence in utilizing personal computers and Microsoft Office applications, including keyboarding skills.

  • Proven ability to research and evaluate information, making informed decisions based on established policies, procedures, and regulations; to investigate questionable data by applying learned procedures and understanding registration laws; to utilize general knowledge of computer functions, state and federal codes, and regulations; to exercise independent judgment and apply prescribed policies; to follow both written and verbal instructions, with a keen attention to detail; to work autonomously and collaboratively; and to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.

  • Relevant administrative experience in researching and analyzing data from diverse sources to assess validity and identify gaps.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be eligible for Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certification within six months of employment, requiring U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency and eligibility for naturalization.
