The Senior Director of Government Relations is responsible for implementing a thorough strategy for public affairs through collaboration with elected officials and influential leaders at various levels.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Evaluating potential legislative and regulatory challenges to assess their impact on the organization and identifying strategic responses.
  • Collaborating closely with market and hospital leadership to keep them informed about significant legislative and policy developments.
  • Delivering informative presentations on policy and legislative matters to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key elected officials, community leaders, and organizations across local, state, and federal levels to support public policy and business objectives.
  • Facilitating political initiatives and grassroots advocacy, representing the department at various meetings, and overseeing additional government relations programs as needed.
  • Managing contract reviews and execution in collaboration with the Vice President of Government Relations.
  • Engaging directly with state legislators, governors, and local officials on critical issues.
  • Overseeing external consultants and lobbyists, including annual contract management with the Vice President of Government Relations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least seven years of pertinent experience in legislative, agency, trade association, corporate, or government relations roles.
  • Preferred background in healthcare-related issues.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding workforce vaccination is mandatory. Candidates offered this position must provide proof of vaccination or secure an exemption prior to starting.
