POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Evaluate potential legislative and regulatory challenges that may affect the organization, assessing risks and opportunities, and formulating strategic responses.
  • Collaborate closely with market and hospital leadership to keep them updated on significant legislative and policy developments. Utilize internal expertise to compile relevant information regarding the operational implications of proposed legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct presentations on policy and legislative matters for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • In designated regions, cultivate and maintain relationships with key elected officials, community influencers, and organizations at local, state, and federal levels to further public policy and business development objectives.
  • Facilitate political initiatives and grassroots advocacy, represent the department at designated meetings, and oversee additional government relations programs as required.
  • Oversee and manage annual contract reviews and executions in collaboration with the Vice President of Government Relations.
  • Engage directly with state legislators, governors, and local officials on pertinent issues.
  • Responsibilities include managing external consultants and lobbyists, along with annual contract reviews and execution in partnership with the Vice President of Government Relations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least seven years of pertinent experience, encompassing legislative, agency, trade association, corporate, or other government relations roles.
  • Experience in healthcare-related issues is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
