Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Federal Government Relations Director to lead our Federal Government Relations strategy and execution. This key role will be responsible for overseeing our Federal Government Relations strategy, including trade association positioning, oversight of Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions, federal advocacy and grassroots communications, and internal and external communications to advance our public policy goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Federal Trade Association Strategy: Oversee and develop our Federal trade association strategy and positioning to effectively advocate for our interests.
  • Federal Lobbying and Communications: Oversee and manage our Federal lobbyists, strategy, and contract execution and communications to ensure effective advocacy and messaging.
  • Federal Government Relations and Advocacy: Lead and advance our Federal government relations and advocacy agenda, including legislative and regulatory summaries and strategic responses, messages, and creation of educational content to increase employee engagement.
  • Member Visits and Engagement: Coordinate facility visits by Members of Congress and other key stakeholders to build relationships and advance our interests.
  • Corporate and Market Leadership: Strategically assess and place corporate, market, and other leaders in roles with numerous Federal and national trade association committees and boards.
  • Federal Political Giving Strategy: Develop and execute our Federal political giving strategy to support our advocacy efforts.
  • Reporting and Communication: Lead and update daily, bi-weekly, and quarterly reporting to Senior Leadership Team, updating policy and advocacy materials.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required in relative field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Seven to ten years of relevant work experience, including Federal legislative, regulatory/agency, trade association, corporate, or campaign experience focusing on issues relevant to hospitals or healthcare delivery.
  • Skills: High level of competence with business software, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to update project management documents. Ability to maintain confidentiality and oversee multiple tasks.
