Job Overview

We are in search of a Public Affairs Coordinator who possesses an outgoing personality and excels in both independent and collaborative work environments. This position is integral to our public affairs team, which focuses on building relationships, attending events, and engaging with the community. A comprehensive understanding of the local government framework is essential, along with the ability to identify business development opportunities for JBJ Management.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and sustain robust relationships with elected officials and their teams. Act as a representative of JBJ Management during council meetings and engage with council members and their staff effectively.

· Coordinate all client meeting schedules with executives and legislative offices. Draft thank-you notes and follow up on legislative inquiries as needed.

· Collaborate as part of various client project teams, delivering outstanding customer service. Provide regular updates on client services and initiatives undertaken on behalf of JBJ Management.

· Attend relevant meetings related to public affairs and focus on establishing new connections within the community. This includes participation in chamber activities, regional meetings, and community events.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional client service and foster relationships.
  • Interest in community engagement, public relations, and partnerships between public and private sectors.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities across diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in technology and data analysis.
  • Exemplary time management skills.
  • Strong research capabilities and report writing proficiency.
  • Experience in project management is preferred.

· A Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not mandatory.

· Familiarity with local government structures and existing relationships in the community are advantageous.

· A minimum of two years of experience in government, community organizing, public engagement, or equivalent education/experience is required.
