Manager of Leave and Accommodations

Job Description:


This role oversees the management of employee leave of absence processes and the accommodation services for both staff and faculty. The position is responsible for all facets of leave management, workplace accommodations, and disability programs, ensuring a seamless experience for employees. Utilizing extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as institutional policies, this role ensures compliance with all relevant laws. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for engaging in sensitive discussions with employees. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust program and project management capabilities, adeptly navigating the complexities associated with leaves, time off, and workplace accommodations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in leave and accommodation management.
  • Proven understanding of absence and accommodation processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations related to leaves and accommodations, with practical application experience.
  • Experience in managing vendors, projects, and programs.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, particularly Workday, for managing time off and leaves.
  • Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams, along with strong customer service abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience implementing policies related to FMLA, ADA, and other employment laws.
  • Self-motivated individual with sound judgment and the ability to work well with colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and diverse responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
