Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of our facilities and grounds, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Supervision: Supervise a team of maintenance staff and vendors to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Capital Improvement Planning: Develop and implement a capital improvement plan to ensure that our facilities are well-maintained and up-to-date.
  • Risk Management: Ensure that occupational safety policies are enforced and facility risk management controls are in place.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a system of grounds and facilities supplies and assets inventory and accounting.
  • Purchasing: Purchase supplies and equipment within the YMCA purchasing guidelines.
  • Project Management: Prepare plans, material lists, and estimates for YMCA renovation projects and assist with the budgeting process.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and associated building inspections and permitting.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Experience: Five years of related experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of all phases of physical plant operation, maintenance, and repair, planning, scheduling, management, and administration of the plant; technical knowledge and skills in working with air-conditioning and heating systems; knowledge and experience with state and local safety, fire, construction, and public access regulations; ability to communicate effectively and express oneself clearly and concisely.
