Job Description:
This role oversees the management of employee leave of absence and accommodation services. The incumbent will be responsible for all facets of leave administration for staff, as well as accommodations for both staff and faculty, including disability programs. This position requires the development and execution of processes and procedures aimed at enhancing the employee experience. A thorough understanding of federal and state regulations, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADAAA), and institutional policies is essential to ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the leave of absence processes for staff, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Facilitate accommodations for staff and faculty, ensuring a supportive work environment.
- Administer disability programs and develop related policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with various departments to address complex employee situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Utilize HR systems knowledge to maintain accurate records and manage leave requests effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in leave and accommodation management.
- Strong understanding of absence and accommodation processes.
- Proven knowledge of relevant regulations and hands-on application experience.
- Experience in managing projects, vendors, and programs related to leave administration.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience implementing policies related to FMLA, ADA, and other employment laws.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
