About the Role

WSP Global Inc. is embarking on a search for a Senior Vice President to lead our Fire and Life Safety (FLS) division in the Western United States.

This role entails comprehensive oversight of the FLS Team, focusing on:
  • Identifying and nurturing new business opportunities with current clients.
  • Establishing new client partnerships.
  • Leading multidisciplinary project execution as the primary point of contact.
  • Collaborating with local FLS office leadership to mentor and develop staff.
  • Formulating strategic initiatives to enhance the growth of the FLS practice.
  • Expanding into new markets and office locations as part of the strategic plan.
  • Gaining proficiency in WSP's financial systems.
Your Impact

As a leader, you will:
  • Guide the development and progress of local FLS leadership.
  • Serve as the design authority for Fire Protection, adhering to WSP USA standards.
  • Drive regional business development with a focus on FLS and related WSP services.
  • Mentor staff to enhance their leadership and technical skills.
  • Organize regional team meetings and training sessions.
  • Oversee the financial management and profitability of FLS projects.
  • Initiate marketing activities and lead presentations.
  • Manage large-scale projects and those for key clients.
  • Ensure client expectations are met regarding project goals, budgets, and timelines.
  • Handle project accounting, including budget oversight and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain a portfolio of clients with full accountability for satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Promote all WSP services during client interactions.
  • Prepare proposals and engage in RFP responses.
  • Delegate effectively to senior and junior staff, ensuring proper coordination.
  • Actively participate in industry events and professional organizations.
  • Lead the design of fire and life safety systems projects.
  • Integrate fire and life safety systems with other building systems.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • P.E. License is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory and project management role.
  • 12+ years of experience in fire and life safety consulting.
  • Proven experience managing diverse project types, including healthcare, commercial, residential, and educational sectors.
  • Strong understanding of building and fire codes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extensive client-facing experience.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $146,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
