Summary

Provides administrative/clerical support to one or more areas of Human Resources (e.g., Compensation, Benefits, Training and Development, Personnel Records, Employee Relations).

Essential Functions
  • Provides administrative support as needed (e.g., data entry; copying and collating; receiving, sorting, and distributing mail; answering telephones and taking messages; establishing and maintaining employee and other files).
  • Compiles information, prepares and processes a wide variety of personnel action forms containing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Responds to a wide variety of inquiries which may involve researching programs, policies and procedures.
  • Assists with administering a wide variety of programs in support of one or more Human Resources areas: Health & Welfare Plans, Disability & FMLA, HIPAA, FSA, COBRA, and 401(k) Plan
  • Acts as liaison between Human Resources and employees regarding Human Resources issues.
  • Participates in the preparation of a variety of employee communications.
  • Participates in the distribution of the Human Resources Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all information.
  • May develop queries; generates and distributes reports.
  • Maintains appropriate records, files, documentation, etc.
  • Duties and tasks are comprised of routine and non-routine items in nature and performed under minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school degree, associate's degree from two-year college or university; at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Human Resource Information System (HRIS) prefer Ultimate Software

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
