Position Summary: The HR Assistant will be instrumental in supporting the HR department, focusing on benefits management, compliance documentation, recruitment activities, policy formulation and interpretation, as well as employee onboarding. This role demands strong analytical and organizational capabilities, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to manage confidential information with utmost integrity. The HR Assistant will also deliver exceptional service to employees and aid in the onboarding of new staff.

Core Responsibilities:

Benefits Management:
  • Assist in the management of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding benefits and resolve issues promptly.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, modifications, and terminations.
Compliance Documentation:
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including EEOC and OSHA reporting.
  • Accurately prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain current knowledge of HR compliance requirements.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Support the recruitment process, including job postings, resume evaluations, interview scheduling, and collaboration with hiring managers.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing necessary paperwork and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Maintain organized and accurate employee records.
Policy Formulation and Interpretation:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure HR policies are current and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management regarding HR policy interpretation and application.
HR Support:
  • Provide administrative assistance to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining HR files.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Assist with special HR projects as required.
Customer Service:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees and respond to HR-related inquiries promptly.
  • Promote positive employee relations and foster a supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR support or a related role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of federal and state HR regulations, including EEOC and OSHA reporting.
  • Experience with benefits management, recruitment processes, and policy formulation is advantageous.
