About the Role

As Employee Benefits Assistant you serve an important role helping the service and sales team at a large, independent insurance agency with coordinating client service requests from clients. Your work will touch every step of the client experience, from preparing renewal information and rate spreadsheeting to preparing proposals and supporting claims resolution. This a great opportunity to learn and grow with one of Chicagos largest health and welfare brokers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Heres a little bit about what you can expect at your desk each day:

  • Work with carriers to ensure timely processing of case submissions and ID cards
  • Support client managers with enrollment materials, information, and presentations for client meetings
  • Daily customer service requests regarding benefits questions, claims issues, eligibility, billing, etc.
  • Renewal prep and marketing to include gathering census and experience information, plan designs, rates, and previous carrier information

Skills & Experience

  • A Bachelors degree plus at least two (2) years of group employee benefits experience
  • Working knowledge of health insurance products and usage
