Employee Benefits Consultant

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the renewal and marketing process, which includes:
- Identifying plans due for renewal monthly.
- Collecting vendor information and client data for marketing initiatives.
- Working with the Client Service team to develop RFPs and distribute them to carriers.
- Preparing proposal data for client presentations.
- Gather, assess, and interpret client reports from insurance providers, data analytics platforms, and other pertinent sources, including claims and enrollment reports, utilization statistics, etc.
- Deliver benchmarking and plan modeling utilizing available tools and resources.
- Prepare and present financial data during client meetings, which may encompass renewal forecasts, premium calculations for self-funded clients, and budgeting strategies.
- Maintain and update team members and systems with collected information and reports.
- Support the new business sales process by assisting in the preparation of RFPs, proposals, and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Life and Health Insurance State License (mandatory).
- Professional Certification preferred (GBA, PHR, CLU, CEBS, CBP).
- 3-5 years of experience in insurance carrier, benefits administration, or insurance brokerage roles.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in:
- Employer healthcare funding (fully insured, self-funding, level funding).
- Healthcare plan structures (HMO, PPO, CDHP).
- Stop-loss insurance and pharmacy benefits.
- Dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness programs.
- Regulatory framework of employee benefit plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Intermediate understanding of statistical mathematics.
- Capability to prioritize, work independently, and achieve objectives with minimal oversight.
- Sound judgment and accountability for results.
- High attention to detail with a proven record of producing precise work.
- Proficiency in computer skills, especially MS Excel, including knowledge of formulas, functions, pivot tables, and charts.
- A passion for collaborative teamwork.
- Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of client data confidentiality.
