Alera Group Midwest is in search of a Benefits Analyst to enhance their employee benefits division in a hybrid capacity. The role involves collaboration with Producers and the Client Service team to analyze and present financial data pertinent to the management and retention of employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the renewal and marketing cycle, which includes:
    • Identifying plans due for renewal monthly.
    • Collecting vendor information and client data for marketing initiatives.
    • Working alongside the Client Service team to develop RFPs and distribute them to carriers.
    • Preparing proposal data for client discussions.
  • Gather, assess, and interpret client reports from insurance providers, data analytics platforms, and other pertinent sources, such as claims and enrollment reports.
  • Provide benchmarking and plan modeling utilizing available tools and resources.
  • Prepare and deliver financial presentations at client meetings, which may encompass renewal forecasts, premium calculations for self-funded clients, and budgeting strategies.
  • Maintain and update team members and systems with collected information and reports.
  • Support the new business sales process by assisting in the preparation of RFPs, proposals, and presentations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Life and Health Insurance State License (mandatory).
  • Professional Certification preferred (GBA, PHR, CLU, CEBS, CBP).
  • 3-5 years of experience in insurance, benefits administration, or brokerage roles.
Required Skills:
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in:
    • Employer healthcare funding (fully insured, self-funding, level funding).
    • Healthcare plan structures (HMO, PPO, CDHP).
    • Stop-loss insurance and pharmacy benefits.
    • Dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness programs.
    • Regulatory landscape of employee benefit plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Intermediate understanding of statistical mathematics.
  • Capability to prioritize, work autonomously, and meet objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Sound judgment and accountability for results.
  • High attention to detail with a history of producing precise work.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially MS Excel, including formulas, functions, pivot tables, and charts.
  • A commitment to collaborative teamwork.
  • Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills.
  • A dedication to maintaining the highest standards of client data confidentiality.
