POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Camp Reed Office Administrator supports Camp Reed Leadership Team by providing high-level administrative support and the best customer support for Camp Reed programs and events. The Camp Reed Office Administrator demonstrates excellent communication skills, work ethic, flexibility, attention to detail, and a high level of accountability and confidentiality while assisting prospective, current, and returning campers and families.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide administrative support and organization for Camp Reed programs and Directors including, but not limited to, data entry, payment processing, registration, and database maintenance.

  1. Process, maintain, and update camper information consisting of individual registration and health forms, store money, lists of registered campers by camp week, and others as assigned.

  1. Serve as the primary contact for Camp Reed inquiries and customer support during the Summer Camp session.

  1. Process communication including, but not limited to phone calls, messages, email, and mail with internal and external contacts.

  1. Input and maintain camper registrations, camp donations, and camper payments in a timely manner.

  1. Assists Camp Reed Leadership Team with management of donor and fundraising tasks, the Camp Reed auction, and other special events to promote the Camp Reed mission and programs.

  1. Demonstrate through action and interaction with staff, Y members, and the public the YMCA Mission, objectives, programs, and the four Character Development Principles: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of college or equivalent preferred. 

  • May be substituted with at least two years of related work experience

  • At least six months of work experience in reception, administrative support, or event planning preferred.

  • Proficient in standard business software, Microsoft Office, and database software.

  • General computer skills/keyboarding and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, experienced using basic office equipment including multi-line phone copier, fax, etc.

  • Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills with internal and external contacts.

  • Completion of YMCA required trainings upon hire

  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
