Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking an accounting professional that has experience creating processes, reconciling books, and managing reports that accurately reflect past and future financials. It is essential that this person is able to troubleshoot issues with vendors, internal staff, and other entities to ensure that reporting is accurate and funds are properly accounted for. In this role, you will also be responsible for supporting the company’s accounting function as a whole and will report directly to our Director of Operations and Founder.

This person will work closely with Leadership in the beginning of the tenure in order to gain a clear understanding of the business. In the future, this person will be able to work more independently with planned meetings, presentations, etc.

Professional Towing & Recovery is a 70ish person company between office staff and drivers. The office environment is professional while also relaxed. This is a fully in office role, with general 9-5 hours. Dress ranges from business casual to jeans and a top. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish Accounting and financial reporting systems for Professional Towing and its two subsidiaries.
  • Review and prepare Monthly financial statements for Professional Towing and its two subsidiaries.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable and billing.
  • Review and prepare monthly general ledger variance analysis.
  • Using financial data to provide meaningful KPIs that supports the business growth.
  • Work with lenders on securing funds and maintaining any regulatory requirements.
  • Development of proposals, bids and RFP responses for government and commercial accounts.
  • Review past two years of financial history, reconcile books, and generate reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises 1-3 employees.
  • Responsibilities include training employees on new processes, meeting weekly to review progress, creating future plans for the current team and future growth of the department.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year university; CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years Accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • An organized individual with initiative who is a critical thinker with high problem-solving ability.
