Position Title: Senior Accountant

Reports to: Vice President and General Manager – North America

Classification: Exempt

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant role is integral to the financial health of the organization, applying accounting principles to evaluate financial data and generate comprehensive financial reports. This exempt position carries significant responsibility for maintaining corporate integrity and delivering results, which may occasionally require extended hours or travel.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively execute the following primary responsibilities:

  1. Manage all facets of accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, month-end closing procedures, and tax documentation, while also generating financial statements and conducting analysis.
  2. Evaluate revenue and expense patterns to provide strategic recommendations.
  3. Oversee cash flow management.
  4. Prepare annual budgets and facilitate the annual financial audit process.
  5. Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate tax regulations.
  6. Supervise the functions of the Accounting Department.
  7. Review current accounting practices and propose enhancements.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Timely reporting of financial data to corporate headquarters.
  2. Conduct periodic audits comparing budgeted figures to actual performance and communicate findings to management.
  3. Forecast and plan in alignment with fiscal requirements.
  4. Execute ad hoc analyses and projects as necessary.
  5. Manage the operations of the General Accounting Department.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management is required, along with a minimum of five years of accounting experience.
  2. CPA certification is preferred.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  4. Ability to navigate challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  6. Proficiency in accounting software, with SAP experience being essential.
  7. Capability to analyze financial data for report preparation and strategic recommendations.
  8. Flexibility to work varied hours to meet deadlines.
  9. Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
