A Day in the Life of the Building of the Future

As a Project Controls Manager, you will act as a key resource for construction initiatives and the main point of contact between the operations team and senior management.

This prominent and dynamic role is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and processing tasks for projects ranging from $1 million to $1 billion in contract value.


This position will report directly to the Operations Manager.

You will be actively engaged on project sites, collaborating closely with our project team and trade partners.


Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project setup, closeout, and owner contract review
- Monitoring key performance indicators
- Innovating and improving processes
- Overseeing project cash flow
- Supporting contract administration, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and financial reporting
- Training and developing project team members
- Preparing and submitting monthly job status reports outlining project priorities and issues
- Facilitating project close-out, including the turnover of manuals and warranties and preparation of final payment documents for subcontractors
- Establishing deadlines and monitoring project progress
- Promoting a culture of safety on the project site
- Providing leadership to foster an inclusive and diverse environment
- Analyzing drawings, specifications, and statements of work to prepare and accept usable baseline schedules for construction.
- Monitoring multiple project schedules developed by operations staff and providing guidance as needed.
- Interacting with the operations team and representing Johnson Controls, Inc. and its partners positively to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.

Support the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with executive management and present to selection committees as required.

Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends.
Evaluate actual construction status against proposed plans.
Travel to project sites up to 50%.
Develop and deliver specialized training in Planning, Scheduling, and other Project Controls for Johnson Controls, Inc.
Critique, create, and recommend enhancements to departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MEP Construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project
- PMP Certification preferred

Management experience with projects related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems is preferred. HVAC experience is highly desirable.



COMPENSATION:
$79,400-128,800 (Salary will be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market alignment.) This role includes a competitive bonus plan that considers individual, group, and corporate performance.
