Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Controller, you will collaborate with stakeholders and the broader team to achieve business goals, provide insights on financial trends, and develop effective solutions. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Generating monthly management reports with detailed variance analyses
- Conducting weekly cash flow assessments
- Overseeing treasury transactions and related reporting
- Preparing and evaluating monthly financial statements
- Coordinating invoice payments in line with contractual obligations
- Maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders
- Reviewing expenses to ensure accurate accounting and appropriate accruals
- Collaborating with the Accounting Manager on technical accounting issues and audit support
- Ensuring compliance with project accounting and financial regulations
- Working with the Tax Director to uphold tax compliance for projects
- Reviewing and preparing general ledger reconciliations for accuracy
- Responding to internal audit information requests
- Ensuring adherence to internal policies, local regulations, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Preparing and managing annual project budgets
- Performing additional duties as required
Qualifications
- Self-motivated and proactive (Required)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively (Required)
- Strong desire to learn, a high-performance work ethic, and a positive attitude (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (Required)
- Knowledge of Canadian financial standards is essential
- Experience in a large multinational organization is preferred
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems, along with Excel (Preferred)
- Valid driver's license is preferred
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred
