Head of Financial Operations

OVERVIEW:

The Head of Financial Operations oversees the formulation and execution of an organization's financial policies and protocols. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of designated financial functions and systems, along with the preparation of relevant analyses and reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for international operations.
  • Provide guidance on GAAP for technical accounting and external financial disclosures.
  • Monitor and enhance internal control mechanisms.
  • Support the establishment of standardized processes throughout the global organization.
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses.
  • Facilitate the annual budgeting process.
  • Investigate accounting matters to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Guarantee the implementation of appropriate cost accounting standards across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary finance representative during the implementation of ERP systems across the organization.
  • Promote standardized master data management throughout the organization.
  • Act as a liaison for external auditors.
  • Assist in mergers and acquisitions activities.
  • Engage in special projects, system enhancements, or ad-hoc analyses.
  • Generate process enhancements to streamline reporting and boost team productivity.
  • Provide coverage for the Controller when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional analytical, technological, communication, and organizational capabilities.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in accounting or finance, with public accounting experience being highly regarded.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional accreditation such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with system implementations and ERP design is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Pivot Tables and advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Dedication to meeting business deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to anticipate and plan work proactively.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.

Training

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. Professional accreditation such as CPA or CMA is preferred. A solid understanding of system implementations and ERP design is also advantageous.
