THE WORK

RMS is looking for an F-35 Training Operations Manager (TOM), which also serves as a Contractor Instructor Pilot (CIP) to be located at Lakenheath, United Kingdom. This manager will be responsible for the execution of training operations in support of the USAF 48 FW, while leading a team of 15-20 flight instructors, flight simulator system administrators, and IT specialists.

Supports military pilots' flight procedures in maintaining qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training. CIP will provide pilot training using the F-35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS). The instructor will primarily operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at dedicated training sites to fulfill F-35 training and continuation training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access. Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Other responsibilities:

Employee engagement – provide performance feedback to employees and engage with them on career goals and development

Configuration Management – overseeing implementation of updates/upgrades and closeout of applicable documentation

Customer coordination with scheduling – (operations and maintenance), shall provide the designated customer representative with a proposed "30-90 day" plan for approval of the utilization of the PTDs to include scheduled maintenance downtime

Sortie Completion and Readiness Reporting – accurate and timely submission of daily training and device information

AS9100 Compliance – ensure site is operating within the guidelines and has all necessary tools, documentation, and training required to be successful

Basic Qualifications:

Position requires demonstrated leadership skills and extensive professional experience in managing operations personnel supporting customer mission readiness at dedicated training and operational installations

Candidate must have prior experience in delivering Military Pilot/Maintenance Academic and Simulator Training

Candidate must be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods

Must have in-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft training operations

Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature

Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required

Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction

Must be a proven leader with management style aligned to LM core values and Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives

Must have experience in evaluating personnel's performance and in completing performance appraisals

Candidate must have active secret clearance and be able to qualify and hold a SAP clearance

Final clearance adjudication within the last five years

Desired Skills:

Previous experience as an F-35 Contractor Instructor Pilot (CIP) or F-35 Pilot Subject Matter (SME) experience

Minimum of 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft

Previous experience with USAF, USAFE, and/or NATO customers

Familiarity with UK flight rules, procedures, and operations

Familiarity with USAF F-35 tactics, techniques, and procedures

Familiarity with USAF 48 FW customer and mission

Familiarity with F-35 program requirements

Familiarity with the F-35 ALIS program

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years
