Roles and Responsibilities

  • As the Marine Services Sales Leader - Government, you will:
  • Own the Government services sales budget, delivering volume and margin to meet quarterly targets. Targets will be set for services supporting the installed base.
  • Apply subject matter expertise (electrical and mechanical systems) to support the bidding process for service opportunities. Identify relevant offerings with the goal to capture new service opportunities
  • Lead commercial and technical proposal efforts coordinating risk analysis with the relevant supporting functions in GE.
  • Form partnerships with other industrial businesses to complement GE solutions to optimize customer outcomes.
  • Partner and facilitate relationships with Government customers reflecting appreciation for customer mission requirements and strategic goals.
  • Develop opportunities and solutions that complement Power Conversion technical capability with existing and future customer needs. Extend these opportunities to encompass the total GE portfolio of Government offerings including product and digital solutions
  • Monitor Government opportunities published in the US and Canadian markets for potential projects that GE can participate in

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical engineering, system engineering; including requirements generation, design, test, commissioning, delivery, and fleet service
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time (domestically and internationally)

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's in Engineering or Naval Architecture from an accredited university or college
  • Experience in shipboard and land based medium and high voltage systems, including variable frequency drives, rotating machines and auxiliary systems
  • Leadership experience in a branch of the United States Military
  • 10 years of experience with electrical engineering, system engineering including requirements generation, design, test, commissioning, delivery and fleet service
  • Knowledge of GE Power Conversion scope of supply (motors, variable speed drives, switchboards, etc)
  • Experience with Government contracting and requirements
  • Effective team building and problem-solving abilities
  • Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
  • Understands GE's products, capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to be able to develop offerings that meet customer needs
  • Displays excellent interpersonal skills – is accessible and approachable
  • Thorough understanding of US Navy Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual
