Reliability and Maintenance Team Leader

Position Overview

The Reliability and Maintenance Team Leader is tasked with the strategic planning, organization, scheduling, delegation, and evaluation of maintenance operations. This role encompasses a variety of critical responsibilities associated with overseeing maintenance functions and includes the training, supervision, and assessment of team members' performance.

Key Responsibilities

· Drive the adoption of innovative equipment technologies aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes and quality standards, including upgrades to machinery, process advancements, tooling, and production methodologies.

· Oversee and strategize the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and processes within the organization.

· Collaborate with product and process design teams to facilitate changes and improvements.

· Engage with management, production, and sales/marketing personnel to discuss project specifications and operational procedures.

· Evaluate technology, resource requirements, and market/customer needs to assess project feasibility and planning.

· Conduct administrative tasks such as report writing, rule enforcement, and participation in procurement decisions for materials and services.

· Present and articulate proposals, reports, and findings to both internal and external stakeholders.

· Assist in the procurement of maintenance materials and external technical services in alignment with established company protocols.

· Collaborate with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager to develop and implement a systematic preventative maintenance program.

· Investigate equipment malfunctions and unexpected failures, providing corrective measures to enhance reliability and operational performance.

· Supervise preventive and predictive maintenance schedules utilizing automated software solutions.

· Monitor inventory requests to ensure sufficient stock levels and cost efficiency in accordance with departmental budgets.

· Lead continuous improvement initiatives, providing management with regular updates on progress.

· Ensure optimal performance of equipment and processes at all times.

· Offer technical assistance to the production team and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

· Facilitate the selection of suitable resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to optimize costs while ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.

· Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and standards.

· Foster a motivated and cohesive team environment among all operational staff.

· Strive to minimize the risk of accidents and environmental impact.

Qualifications

· A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

· 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

· Familiarity with ABB robotics is preferred.

· Experience in highly automated settings is advantageous.

· Background in fabrication is a plus.
