About the Role:

Manages and coordinates the distribution of materials for Service Operations. Responsible for physical storage and issuing of material and parts used in production. Responsible for accurate maintenance of physical inventory and records of all assigned materials and parts. Requires coordination with production, purchasing and materials planning personnel.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Per work orders, prepares the production materials needed for a job and issues to production floor.
  • Maintains physical inventory of all assigned parts and production materials. Set-up and maintains a logical, accurate storage and picking system so that all materials can be stored and picked as efficiently as possible.
  • Assist with physical inventories (cycle, annual, etc.) as needed.
  • Order and maintain all indirect shop consumables and safety supplies as needed for production.
  • Input all appropriate detail in SAP, or other computer programs as needed to maintain data base and produce reports and track data:
  • Work order releases.
  • Daily inventory transactions
  • Checks Bills of Material to make sure all required parts are available or on order, coordinates with purchasing and engineering departments to resolve problems.
  • Practices lean strategies to reduce inventory, scrap, and waste
  • Returns overstocked materials and disposes of obsolete materials.
  • Practices "5S" and "7W"
  • Receives all incoming materials for the business unit, delivers to appropriate storage or use, and prepares daily receiving transactions.
  • Runs required reports to assure accuracy, resolve problems and report to management:
  • Prepare material usage reports.
  • Follows all safety requirements and works with safety in mind.
  • Use of safe fork truck techniques to protect people, property, and materials.
  • Maintains awareness of hazardous areas and situations, immediately notifies team leader or supervisor of any quality or safety problems.
  • Works cooperatively with others in a continuous improvement environment; attends and participates in team meetings, helps others as needed.
  • Responsible for housekeeping, order and neatness of the storage shop areas.
  • Keep Supervisor advised of any quality problems, concerns, delays, etc.
  • Advise Supervisor of any maintenance work. Maintain an orderly and safe work environment.
  • Always follows established safety procedures and policies.
  • Suggest methods improvements or alternate methods and materials to reduce cost and/or improve quality.
  • Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.
