Position Overview: The Material Handling Equipment Technician will be tasked with the inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting routine preventative maintenance on MHE.
  • Diagnosing and repairing MHE, including Liquid Propane, Gas, and Diesel engines, as well as Transmissions, Hydraulic Systems, Steering Systems, Electrical Systems, and Brakes.
  • Reading and interpreting maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and specifications.
  • Managing work orders in both paper and digital formats efficiently.
  • Performing hazard assessments and upholding high standards of safety and quality control.
  • Minimizing injuries, property damage, and material loss while ensuring a clean work environment.
  • Completing all necessary company training promptly.

Performance Metrics: Success in this role will be measured through a scorecard evaluating safety, project completion times, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of Electrical, Diesel, and Internal Combustion Forklifts, Lift Trucks, and related material handling equipment.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to complete service reports, timecards, and parts orders.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, as services may be required during evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • A willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), handle tools, and may need to lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
