Position Title: Key Accounts Sales Manager

HTX Material Handling is a distributor of Material Handling Equipment, representing leading brands in the Texas market. Established in 2019, we are poised for growth as we enhance our presence in the region.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Key Accounts Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing large accounts while collaborating with the OEM's Key Accounts/National Accounts team. This role is essential in fostering key markets and customer relationships within our territory. The manager will also support other sales personnel, including Sales Managers and Account Managers, in achieving overall company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate a comprehensive business plan and sales strategy to meet company sales and profit targets.
  • Enhance the performance and development of all sales personnel in material handling.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, representing HTX Forklifts professionally.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with key clients to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Collaborate on marketing action plans to effectively identify sales leads and prospects.
  • Support the development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Prioritize timely follow-ups with customers and staff to ensure effective communication.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing plans as necessary.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to enhance communication and identify training needs.
  • Provide feedback to Senior Management regarding performance metrics.
  • Understand market pricing dynamics and work with sales staff to enhance market share while maximizing profit margins.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing, sales, and activity reports submitted by the sales team.
  • Assist Account Managers in preparing proposals and presentations.
  • Control departmental expenses to align with budget guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards within the sales team.
  • Support recruitment and hiring of sales staff based on established criteria.
  • Facilitate the implementation and utilization of a CRM system to its full potential.
  • Collaborate across the HTX Forklifts footprint to prioritize customer needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Preferred: College Degree

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven sales management experience in a multi-location operation.
  • Experience in Material Handling products with a focus on business development.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated growth and market expansion in the industrial distribution sector within the last 5 years.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities with effective negotiation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of customer and market dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel throughout South Texas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment varies from office settings to industrial locations, including:

  • Well-lit, climate-controlled office spaces.
  • Proximity to heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Potential exposure to noise and air contaminants typical of industrial settings.
  • Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional after-hours commitments based on customer needs.
  • Some travel required (approximately 20%) by land and/or air.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and utilize office equipment.
  • Capability to navigate industrial sites, including tight spaces.
