ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Key Accounts Sales Manager will focus on developing substantial accounts and collaborating with the OEM's Key Accounts/National Accounts team to cultivate these vital markets and clients within our territory. This role will support other sales positions, including Sales Managers and Account Managers, in meeting the overall objectives of the company while also assisting internal and external customers.

This position will lead and nurture the sales team, ensuring they reach their full potential in terms of growth and profitability aligned with company targets. The role involves delivering a strategic plan to enhance the Key customer base in the HTX Forklifts market area and contributing to the creation of customer-centric solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulating a business plan and sales strategy for the market to achieve company sales and profit objectives.
  • Enhancing the performance and development of all sales personnel in material handling.
  • Establishing and fulfilling vendor and OEM performance commitments.
  • Building strong relationships with OEMs while representing HTX Forklifts professionally.
  • Maintaining communication with key clients to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Collaborating on marketing action plans to effectively identify sales leads and prospects.
  • Coordinating the development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Prioritizing timely follow-ups with customers, managers, and staff.
  • Assisting in the creation and execution of marketing plans as necessary.
  • Conducting regular meetings with direct reports to foster effective communication and identify training needs.
  • Providing timely feedback to Senior Management regarding performance metrics.
  • Understanding market pricing dynamics and collaborating with sales staff to enhance market share while maximizing profit margins.
  • Maintaining accurate records of pricing, sales, and activity reports submitted by the sales team.
  • Supporting Account Managers in preparing proposals and presentations.
  • Managing departmental expenses to adhere to budget guidelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards within the sales team.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and hiring of sales staff based on criteria established by senior management.
  • Facilitating the implementation and effective use of a CRM system.
  • Working across the HTX Forklifts footprint to prioritize customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Preferred: College Degree

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven sales management experience in a multi-location operation.
  • Sales Management or Business Development experience with 5+ years in Material Handling products.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated growth and market expansion record in the industrial distribution sector, preferably within the last 5 years.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities with strong negotiation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of customer and market dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel throughout South Texas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment varies from office settings to job sites and industrial locations. Generally, it includes:

  • Well-lit, climate-controlled office spaces with adequate ventilation.
  • Proximity to heavy industrial equipment and mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to air contaminants and loud environments.
  • Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional after-hours work as needed.
  • Some domestic travel (approximately 20%) may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, including while driving.
  • Proficiency in using a keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged durations.
  • Capability to navigate industrial and construction sites, including tight spaces.
