As of one our Social Media Managers, you'll wear many hats- part strategist, part content creator, and part community builder. You'll oversee multiple university social channels, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with our diverse audiences. Your data-driven approach will inform decisions and your knack for executing comprehensive social media strategies will elevate our brand and reputation. Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of social media strategies and projects for assigned accounts that align with internal and external audiences and the university's goals and objectives.
  • Executes day-to-day management of multiple social media accounts and their subsequent channels, including but not limited to, Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Stays updated on social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the university remains at the forefront of social media trends and engagement.
  • Produces, curates, edits and manages content including images, video, written and audio that is original, high-quality and engaging.
  • Develops content calendars for each account to ensure consistent and timely posts across all social platforms.
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a "social way" while cultivating positive relationships.
  • Foster community engagement by initiating and participating in online conversations.
  • Ensure all content is on brand and consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice.
  • Work alongside the marketing team to execute paid social media campaigns to drive engagement, reach, and conversation.
  • Provide guidance to departmental social media coordinators and align social media efforts with overall marketing strategies.
  • Performs research, analyzes data, and assists with development and implementation of social media efforts.
  • Participates in communication projects, ensuring that expectations are managed, and work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field, AND:

  • 24 months experience in marketing, public relations or communications

Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple social media platforms and developing content that drives engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics and management tools.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in paid social media marketing.
  • Experience with graphic design and video editing software is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including working with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and sit for prolonged periods.

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Requires contact with other departments and University officials.
  • Some evening and weekend work required.
