Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary spokesperson for county officials, articulating their objectives and initiatives to the public.

  • Monitor media coverage and public opinion, providing timely insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure unified messaging across all platforms.

  • Leverage social media channels to boost the county's online visibility and engagement.

Qualifications:

Required: Proven experience in media relations, public relations, or related fields.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship building.
  • Adept at managing high-pressure situations and crisis communications.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of effective execution.
  • Proficient in social media management and digital communication strategies.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Legal degree (Juris Doctor).
  • Experience or familiarity with local government operations and policies.
