Main Purpose of Job

This position will serve in dual roles as both the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA)'s Office Receptionist and the Executive Assistant to the MCA's Director.�\r
\r
\r
As the Office Receptionist, this position will be responsible for overseeing the front desk, while also completing administrative tasks. This position will require regular usage of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans and/or policies.�\r
\r
\r
As the Executive Assistant, this position will be responsible for directly assisting the Director with key analytic, strategic, operational, and administrative activities. This position will organize the Director's calendar, meetings, travel, and other priorities. This position will also organize all public engagements for the Director and the MCA team as a whole, including speaking engagements.�\r
\r
\r
Additionally, this position will function as a liaison between officials in federal and State Government, along with professionals in the private industry and a diverse group of stakeholders. Finally, this position will consult with senior staff members to resolve outstanding administrative and operational issues.�\r
\r
\r
This position will be expected to maintain and develop standard operating procedures and protocols, as appropriate.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r
Experience:�Three years of administrative staff or professional work experience.\r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year, up to two�years of the required experience.�\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a college or university�for the required experience.\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a Commissioned Officer involving staff work that included the regular usage of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules, or regulations; or analysis of operational programs or procedures, with recommendations for improvement, on a year-for-year basis, for the required�experience.��\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
