Main Purpose of Job

The Administrator III supports the Agency by managing the implementation of federal and State\r
election laws and polices. The position develops, implements, and manages efforts to improve\r
election administration and voter registration through the State. The Administrator III position in Election Policy implements new laws, regulations, and policies as directed by the Administration. The Administrator III supports the 24 local boards of elections (LBEs) in implementation of election laws and regulations.

POSITION DUTIES


•\tManage various programs that implement State laws, regulations, and policies concerning selection and \tapproval of voting locations and voter registration;\r

•\tSupports the Agency in directing and coordinating activities and projects implementing election policy \tthroughout Maryland;\r

•\tSupports the 24 local boards of elections (LBEs) in implementation of election laws and regulations;\r

•\tCollect, organize and present data regarding voter registration and election day activities;\r

•\tManage review and response to requests for information;�\r

•\tManages short and long-range plans for program operations and resources;\r

•\tImplements new regulations and policies as directed by upper management;\r

•\tSets goals and deadlines and oversees the workflow of the unit;\r

•\tManages projects and related contracts necessary to fulfill agency functions;\r

•\tSupports election preparation activities, including customer service;�\r

•\tPerforms other related duties.\r

THIS POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK EXTENDED HOURS DURING CRITICAL ELECTION TIMES.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.��\r
Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.� Two years of project management experience.��\r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.�\r
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience.\r
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r
