Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the Fiscal and\r
Administration Team including file and database management, processing payments,\r
coordinating fiscal documents, maintaining fiscal records, and general office administrative\r
support related to the unit's fiscal administration of local grant programs. The functions include\r
file and database management, coordinating and assisting with documents and files needed for\r
fiscal transactions, and general administrative support related to the Unit's capital grant\r
programs including Program Open Space Local, Community Parks and Playgrounds, Local\r
Parks and Playgrounds Infrastructure program, and the Greenspace Equity Program. This\r
position must work with other teams within the Land Acquisition & Planning Unit and with\r
various units within the Department. This position relates directly to the mission of DNR as\r
LAP works to advance land conservation and outdoor recreational opportunities in Maryland,\r
assists in providing an integrated and self-sustaining network of public lands and open space, and\r
provides efficient and effective operations.

POSITION DUTIES

The Department of Natural Resources, Land Acquisition & Planning Unit, located at the Tawes State Office Building, Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for a Fiscal Officer – Local Grants position. The Land Acquisition & Planning Unit works to advance land conservation and outdoor recreational opportunities in Maryland. The main purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the Fiscal and Administration Team including processing payments, file and database management, coordinating fiscal documents, maintaining fiscal records, and general office administrative support related to the unit's fiscal administration of local grant programs. The functions include file and database management, coordinating and assisting with documents and files needed for fiscal transactions, and general administrative support related to the Unit's capital grant programs including Program Open Space Local, Community Parks and Playgrounds, Local Parks and Playgrounds Infrastructure program, and the Greenspace Equity Program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work. \r
Notes:\r
1. Candidates may substitute 30�credit hours from an accredited college or university for�one�year of the required experience.\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree�from a college or university for the required experience.\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included�regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required�experience. \r

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants not using a substitution to meet the minimum qualifications, must have two years of experience in administrative work managing fiscal records or grant disbursements. (*job duties must be clearly described in your application to receive credit)\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r
Experience using the State's FMIS, R*STARS, and ADPICS systems.\r
Experience with Sharepoint Databases, excel spreadsheets.\r
Experience tracking project and program fund balances.\r
\r

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r
