At NWACC, our faculty and staff are dedicated to cultivating a diverse educational atmosphere and a cultural learning environment that promotes student achievement.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for part-time and/or substitute faculty positions within the Respiratory Therapy Program. Applications will be retained for the fiscal year. When a vacancy arises, the hiring department will evaluate the applications on file. After the conclusion of each fiscal year, applications will expire, and a new submission will be necessary to remain in the applicant pool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and instruct students in the practice of Respiratory Therapy (RT) at various clinical locations, with travel required.
  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with both NWACC and clinical affiliate policies and procedures while on-site.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Communicate student progress to the Director of Clinical Education.
  • Utilize various technologies to input student data.
  • Engage in faculty meetings and advisory board discussions.
  • Assist in the RT laboratory and classroom as needed.
  • Act as a mentor to RT students.
  • Educate and integrate RT students into the role of the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Compensation: Pay rates are determined by the level of education:

  • Certification/Licensure in Discipline: $32 per hour
  • Associate Degree: $35 per hour
  • Bachelor's Degree: $39 per hour
  • Master's Degree: $42 per hour
  • Doctorate Degree: $45 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient Respiratory Therapy Practitioner.
  • Active NBRC credential of RRT.
  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Arkansas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Must pass an annual background check and drug screening.
  • Strong patient focus and commitment to ongoing process improvement.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Ability to be flexible and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Competent in computer usage.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must be Registered Respiratory Therapists with at least 2 years of experience and hold an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred.
