We are currently seeking qualified candidates to create a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors to teach courses in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Agricultural Sciences, and other life science disciplines. Part-time faculty members may be required to teach and oversee a complete course, which includes both lectures and laboratory sessions, with the flexibility to teach during mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction to students.
- Utilize a variety of effective strategies to enhance student learning.
- Encourage active participation and discussions among students.
- Maintain accurate records related to class activities.
- Communicate with students outside of class regarding assignments and classwork.
- Stay updated with developments in the field of study.
- Assess student coursework promptly and provide feedback on progress.
- Demonstrate a willingness to incorporate current and emerging technologies in teaching.
- Contribute to the academic community and the college through additional responsibilities typical of adjunct faculty.
Compensation: $730 per credit hour
Qualifications
Required:
- Master of Science degree in a Biological Science.
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant subject area.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching courses in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, or related life sciences.
- PhD or additional graduate coursework in Biological Sciences.
- Experience with online teaching methodologies.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
- Interest or experience in project-based learning approaches.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in laboratory settings.
