Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting requirements for the division. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring effective internal controls over financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of accounting professionals in the preparation and analysis of financial reports.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure timely follow-up on open items.
  • Assist in the consolidation process and manage a team focused on corporate accounting and SOX compliance.
  • Coordinate with other sites and departments to ensure financial deliverables are accurate and received in a timely manner.
  • Research accounting pronouncements and determine their impact on the company's operations.
  • Perform complex analysis of various technical accounting concepts.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are executed as written and drive consistency and standardization across plants.
  • Assist with scoping and planning for testing of internal financial and accounting controls.
  • Work closely with process owners to ensure internal controls are adequately maintained and effective.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities within the department.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with operating sites to resolve questions and issues that arise in the normal course of business.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles to all aspects of the role.
Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's college degree; minimum of five years of Accounting experience with an advanced knowledge of accrual-based accounting.
  • Preferred: SAP experience, working knowledge of intra-/inter-company transactions, Accounting experience in a multinational company.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification, MBA or Advanced Accounting/Finance experience preferred.
  • ERP and Excel skills, including advanced skills in Pivot Tables, VLookups/XLookups, and IFTHEN formulas.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
