General Overview

As a key player in our retail operations, you will oversee all facets of the Store's functionality. Your leadership will drive the Store's performance, ensuring adherence to Company standards and best practices.

Your responsibilities will include staffing, training, and developing a leadership team to achieve targeted sales and profitability while fostering a welcoming shopping atmosphere.

You will also be tasked with recruiting, training, and nurturing Associates.

Additionally, you will manage the Stockroom, Front End, and Sales Floor operations to guarantee timely merchandise availability, proper goods receipt, and effective expense management through best practices.

Core Responsibilities

Operational Excellence:
Lead the implementation of Company Best Practices to enhance productivity by streamlining processes.

Review Store reports to assess controllable expenses and overall performance.

Address any discrepancies in Company standards with actionable plans, collaborating with the District Manager as necessary.

Ensure optimal scheduling of Associates to meet business needs.

Accept special projects as assigned by Leadership.

Oversee payroll administration, including daily punch edits, compliance with scheduling, payroll transmission, and reporting as required.

Team Development:
Recruit, hire, train, and mentor Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors, and non-exempt Associates.

Strive to minimize Store turnover through effective selection, training, and motivation. Utilize retention tools such as incentive programs, recognition opportunities, and training to promote engagement.

Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Ensure compliance with Company personnel policies and procedures.

Manage Associate Relations issues, consulting with the District Manager as needed.

Ensure adherence to all State, Local, and Federal regulations.

Expense Management:
Guide all expenditures to remain within budgetary constraints.

Control payroll hours as the primary variable expense, adjusting according to current business trends.

Safety and Security:
Uphold Company safety policies to ensure a secure environment for Associates and Customers.

Ensure all Associates are trained in emergency procedures.

Customer Engagement:
Treat all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.

Exhibit courtesy and friendliness at all times, recognizing Associates through Company recognition programs.

Implement Customer service initiatives and Merchandise Presentation programs through effective Associate training and supervision.


Supervise and coach Retail Associates to deliver efficient and friendly service across all customer touchpoints.


Brand Representation:
Lead by example in maintaining a professional appearance in line with the Company Dress Code. Reinforce adherence to the Dress Code at all times.

Represent and uphold the Company brand consistently.

Manage the Store to ensure a clean, organized, and inviting shopping environment.

Maintain high housekeeping standards with the assistance of contracted maintenance personnel and Ross Associates.

Merchandise Management:


Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are executed to Company standards through effective delegation and follow-up.

Ensure merchandise is displayed and organized according to Company guidelines.

Efficiently manage merchandise processing to the sales floor within the expected timeframe.

Loss Prevention:
Train Associates on Loss Prevention strategies to meet Store shortage objectives.

As a representative of Ross Leadership, demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions. Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.


Understand and comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program, maintaining a strong customer service presence on the sales floor while promoting heightened awareness.

Lead the annual inventory process, ensuring adherence to inventory guidelines.

Monitor stock policies to ensure proper management.

Qualifications

Five or more years of management experience in a retail setting.

Demonstrated commitment to high levels of Customer service.

Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with Store Associates.

Ability to train, coach, and develop Associates at all levels.


Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to achieve goals.

Fluency in English is required.

Must exercise independent judgment and discretion.

Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

Ability to operate all Store equipment, including registers and PCs as necessary.

Ability to spend the majority of working time standing, walking, and moving throughout the Store.

Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.

Ability to occasionally lift more than 25 lbs.

Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of Assistant Store Manager, Area Supervisors, and all Retail Associates.
