Position Overview

In the role of Project Architect, you will play a crucial part in a variety of design initiatives, conducting research and analysis to bolster our dynamic Industrial Design practice. Your contributions will support the leadership team in expanding our presence and portfolio through strategic project pursuits and nurturing client relationships. The Project Architecture team collaborates closely with colleagues and engages with LJC's parent company, Clayco, to deliver projects that are seamlessly integrated across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cohesive design of projects and the development of construction documentation.
  • Act as the primary liaison with contractors and consulting engineers.
  • Manage and mentor one or more team members.
  • Lead design teams in crafting proposals for prospective clients.
  • Organize and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Develop thought leadership in technical architecture and design.
  • Facilitate discussions within the local and regional design community.
  • Participate in recruiting and interviewing candidates to support practice growth.
  • Represent LJC at community and civic engagements.
  • Embody LJC's core values of integrity, humility, and fearlessness.
  • Contribute to LJC's Core Councils focused on Culture, Integration, Practice, Process, and Sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in architecture and design.
  • Must hold a valid architect registration.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD/Revit, and MS Office.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to both internal and external audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building and coaching colleagues.
  • Skilled in client communication and relationship management.
