Position Summary:
The Legal Records Program Supervisor will oversee complex administrative and supervisory functions for attorneys handling expunction and juvenile record cases.

Responsibilities include setting program objectives, formulating guidelines, policies, and procedures, as well as establishing schedules and standards to meet program goals. The supervisor will evaluate program effectiveness and coordinate various program activities.

Supervise and assign tasks to team members while working under general oversight, allowing for moderate independence in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and train staff involved in expunction and juvenile sealing processes.
2. Analyze and assess contested expunction petitions and juvenile sealing motions.
3. Maintain accurate records on case calendars and ensure proper attorney assignments.
4. Coordinate scheduling for attorneys opposing expunction and juvenile sealing cases.
5. Oversee related program activities.
6. Draft and review various legal documents.
7. Provide technical support and conduct necessary investigations.
8. Develop and maintain operational procedure manuals.
9. Monitor legislation affecting expunction and juvenile records.
10. Adhere to attendance policies and perform additional duties as required.


Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited four-year institution with a major in Law Enforcement, Law, Government, Business Management, or a related field is essential.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, including supervisory roles and program development.

Substitution Note:

Additional relevant work experience or education may be substituted on a one-to-one basis, with thirty semester hours equating to one year of education.


Knowledge Requirements:

Familiarity with TXDPS, state and federal regulations, and criminal law is necessary. Proficiency in managing microfilm and digital files is also required.


Supervisory Skills:

Knowledge of management principles and the ability to develop effective workflow plans and policies is critical. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to supervise, schedule, and evaluate staff performance while providing effective leadership.


Analytical Skills:

Candidates must possess strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.


Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


Communication Skills:

Effective communication and presentation skills are required for training and information dissemination to various audiences.


Organizational Skills:

Strong organizational abilities and flexibility in a dynamic environment are necessary, along with the capability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.


Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software relevant to the position is required.


Confidentiality:

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information responsibly and adhere to relevant laws and policies is mandatory.


Schedule:

Availability for after-hours and weekend work may be necessary.

Benefits:

Employees selected for positions within the same salary group will maintain their current salary. Salary adjustments for new titles may not exceed 3.4% of the current salary, subject to budgetary constraints.
