Our multidisciplinary teams are composed of compassionate professionals who collaborate to deliver the highest standard of evidence-based treatment across various levels of care.

Position Overview:

The Medical Admissions Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the admission process for clients, ensuring their medical safety prior to admission, and preparing the receiving facility to deliver optimal care. This position is accountable for making medical clearance decisions for both direct and traditional admissions referred to higher levels of care. The Medical Admissions Specialist may also engage in direct client services and is responsible for coordinating with multiple teams, including psychiatry, nursing, and medical staff, regarding incoming clients.

Work Schedule:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and make medical clearance decisions for clients referred to higher levels of care (IDP, PHP, RTF).
  • Collaborate closely with the Clinical Admissions Services and all teams focused on admissions to enhance communication and reduce the time required for processing higher-level care clients.
  • Review laboratory results, EKGs, and medical history to inform decision-making.
  • Provide medical clearance for clients transitioning to a higher level of care or those proceeding with a lower level of care.
  • Coordinate with clinical sites to prepare for client admissions.
  • Identify training needs and partner with teams to address any gaps.
  • Develop resources, tools, and educational materials for onsite clinical teams.
  • Engage with external providers on complex cases as necessary.
  • Consult with leadership for guidance and decision-making when required.
  • Offer direct client care as needed.
  • Prepare backup medical clearance providers during absences.
  • Act as a liaison between admissions and medical, psychiatry, and nursing teams concerning admissions.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Possession of a State Medical License and Board Certification.
Employee Benefits:

We recognize the significance of a comprehensive benefits package, which is why we offer a variety of plans tailored to meet the needs of our employees. For full-time staff, we provide:
  • Health insurance options, including HSA and PPO plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield).
  • Dental coverage (Delta Dental).
  • Vision insurance (EyeMed).
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Company-paid life insurance.
  • 401(k) plan available after two months of employment, with matching contributions up to 50% of your contribution, capped at 6% of your compensation.
Paid time off is essential for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our generous PTO policy accrues annually and begins with your first full pay period, including seven paid holidays and one floating holiday in addition to regular PTO.

Professional Development:

As a leader in the field of eating disorder treatment, we are committed to supporting career advancement and providing our staff with extensive clinical education. We collaborate with the University of Minnesota Medical School and have a dedicated team focused on delivering ongoing education through in-house continuing education credits, webinars, and in-person events.
