MDS Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monitoring of documentation and reimbursement processes for residents utilizing Inclusive Insurance and Medicare.
- Ensure that admission paperwork is accurately prepared and that the Electronic Medical Record is properly completed by the designated interdisciplinary team member.
- Serve as the primary trainer for the MDS and care planning processes, assisting in the completion of MDS assessments as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Active RN/LPN license in the State of Minnesota, with graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current experience in MDS/CAA completion, care planning, and understanding of Medicare/PDPM requirements.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and experience working with corporate finance teams and insurance carriers on billing issues and claims.
Preferred Experience:
- Two years of experience in long-term care for LPNs.
- Experience with ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data effectively.
- Strong independent work ethic with excellent time management skills, while also being a collaborative team player.
Major Accountabilities:
- Ensure the completion of the RAI process for assigned residents.
- Maintain professional development through participation in relevant webinars and conferences.
- Exhibit professional conduct with all stakeholders, including residents, families, and staff.
- Adhere to federal, state, and organizational standards and regulations.
- Provide training to new and existing staff on the RAI process and MDS completion.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives for the community and organization.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and relevant parties regarding important information.
- Complete MDS, CAAs, and care plans in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
