Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Crisis Intervention Support Associate plays a vital role in assisting personnel within the Crisis Unit. Responsibilities may encompass facilitating group activities, ensuring safety within the unit, managing documentation, and maintaining cleanliness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with nursing staff in organizing and executing both group and individual activities, including preparation and cleanup.
  • Actively listens and responds to clients, documenting observations for nursing staff to incorporate into progress notes, and assists in completing necessary paperwork.
  • Maintains regular communication with clients to coordinate unit activities effectively.
  • Engages in recreational activities while prioritizing the safety of both staff and clients in high-risk situations.
  • Exhibits awareness in a high-risk environment, adhering to established protocols and maintaining close contact with high-risk clients when necessary.
  • Supports team members in verbal and physical interventions to safeguard clients.
  • Assists with basic food preparation and cleaning tasks as required by the program.
  • Monitors inventory and coordinates purchases to ensure the availability of essential items such as games, supplies, and refreshments.
  • Participates in ongoing training and educational opportunities as mandated.
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars as necessary.
  • Handles a diverse range of tasks and adapts quickly to changing demands.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of Care Plans for clients.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, tact, patience, and empathy.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Preferred experience in supporting adults with mental health challenges in community settings or mental health agencies.
