Position Overview

The Ultrasonographer Technician plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of the ultrasound department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient service delivery.

Reporting Structure:

Reports directly to the Director of Imaging Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and guide the team of ultrasound technicians and support staff during assigned shifts.
  • Manage scheduling for both regular and on-call personnel to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Utilize the Teletracking system to monitor and ensure timely completion of ultrasound procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, employee engagement initiatives, and provide coaching and corrective feedback to team members.
  • Oversee monthly performance metrics and conduct regular audits of ultrasound documentation.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to facilitate team meetings and provide necessary administrative support.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for ultrasound services.
  • Assist in patient discharge processes while adhering to Safe Patient Handling protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare support role.
  • Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid state Driver's license with eligibility for coverage under UMC auto insurance.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
