Position Summary

We are in search of a strategic and execution-oriented Vice President of Operational Excellence to join our leadership team and spearhead operational advancements throughout our organization.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will entail hands-on involvement in identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and drive productivity improvements.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the ophthalmology sector, exceptional project management capabilities, and the aptitude to work collaboratively across various teams to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute operational strategies that align with AVP's overarching business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and lead initiatives to optimize processes and reduce costs.
  • Analyze clinical workflows to minimize patient wait times and enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Establish standardized clinical protocols to ensure uniformity in patient care across all facilities.
  • Implement strategies to improve patient flow in clinics and surgical centers.
  • Lead quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Develop training programs for clinical staff to promote adherence to new processes.
  • Conduct operational audits to pinpoint inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Optimize resource utilization to meet patient demand effectively.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators related to operational efficiency.
  • Enhance patient communication systems to improve appointment management and follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while implementing process improvements.
  • Oversee key operational projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team focused on operational excellence.
  • Establish performance metrics to evaluate the success of operational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless integration of initiatives.
  • Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stay informed on industry trends to drive innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ophthalmology.
  • At least 10 years in senior operational roles with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements in clinical settings.
  • Strong understanding of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Expertise in data analytics and performance metrics.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Experience in financial management and budget oversight.
  • Knowledge of healthcare IT systems and their application.
  • Proven ability to lead change management initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly ophthalmology.
