Position Summary

We are in search of a dedicated and results-oriented Vice President of Operational Excellence to join our operational leadership team. This pivotal role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for spearheading initiatives that enhance operational performance across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the ophthalmology sector, along with exceptional skills in process optimization and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute operational strategies that align with AVP's overarching business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and lead initiatives to improve processes, boost productivity, and minimize costs.
  • Analyze clinical workflows to enhance patient experiences, ensuring efficient transitions from check-in to check-out.
  • Establish and implement standardized clinical protocols to maintain consistency in patient care across all facilities.
  • Develop strategies to optimize patient flow in clinics and surgical centers, alleviating bottlenecks and enhancing overall patient satisfaction.
  • Lead quality improvement projects aimed at elevating clinical outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction through evidence-based practices.
  • Create and deliver training programs for clinical staff to ensure compliance with new processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular audits of operational efficiency to pinpoint inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Optimize resource allocation to meet patient demand effectively.
  • Implement advanced scheduling techniques to maximize provider and staff efficiency.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in operations while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators related to operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Enhance patient communication systems to streamline appointment reminders and follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in all process improvements.
  • Oversee key operational projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team focused on operational excellence.
  • Establish performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of operational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and financial teams to ensure seamless integration of operational strategies.

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

● Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies; certification preferred.

● Minimum of 5 years of experience in ophthalmology with a strong expertise required.

● At least 10 years in senior operational roles, demonstrating a track record of driving operational excellence.

● Proven experience in implementing process improvements in a clinical environment.

● Strong understanding of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and experience in optimizing workflows.

● Exceptional project management skills, with a history of managing complex, cross-functional projects.

● Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.

● Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
