Job Overview

Midwest Veterinary Supply, Inc. is on the lookout for a Territory Sales Consultant to manage our sales operations in designated regions. This role is essential for enhancing our market presence and driving sales of veterinary products to various clients including veterinary clinics, educational institutions, and research organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales outreach to veterinary practices, educational facilities, and research institutions. Promote veterinary supplies and share valuable market insights with clients.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Representatives to optimize sales strategies and outcomes.
  • Prepare for sales calls by organizing materials, distributing promotional literature, and analyzing previous sales interactions.
  • Build and nurture professional relationships with vendor representatives within the assigned territory.
  • Participate in educational events, vendor-sponsored meetings, and industry trade shows to stay updated on market trends and product offerings.
  • Respond to requests from management and vendors regarding territory assessments and reporting.
  • Complete expense reports in a timely manner and provide territory analysis as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to meet essential job functions effectively.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in the veterinary sector is required.
  • Sales experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English, with strong reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret various documents such as safety guidelines and operational instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and effective sales techniques.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy, including data entry skills.
  • Self-motivated and diligent, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Mental & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to manage stress and handle rejection effectively.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Regular interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Frequent use of a computer and telephone, requiring good vision and hearing.
  • Ability to travel for vendor training and sales meetings.

Work Environment:

This position involves significant travel, working primarily in the field, and requires adaptability to various weather conditions. Overnight travel may be necessary for training and meetings.
