Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Manager to provide administrative support to the Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative and secretarial duties, including assistance with graduate student records, mail distribution, and general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative and secretarial duties for the Associate Chair, Graduate Director, Undergraduate Director, and faculty of the Department of Theatre & Dance.
  • Make arrangements for meetings and conferences for the Theatre & Dance program and faculty.
  • Coordinate faculty travel, complete and process paperwork, and assist with technical needs.
  • Prepare agendas, reserve space, draft and edit presentation materials, and distribute printings.
  • Liaise with the Tenure & Promotion committee and facilitate communication with Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar's Office.
  • Represent the Theatre Program in contact with other university officials and departments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma and 4 years of work experience directly related to the area of employment.
  • Computer skills, especially word-processing, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures, ability to handle constant interruptions and changes, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, work with minimum supervision, and find solutions to problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with the public, students, and faculty.
  • Knowledge of office management policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty, staff, and students.
