Administrative Assistant/Assistant Head of School

We're seeking a highly skilled and organized Administrative Assistant to join our founding team at Guidepost Montessori. As we open a new school in the Columbia, Maryland area, we're looking for someone who is passionate about education and committed to delivering exceptional support to our students, families, and staff.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to bringing about widespread change in education. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the front desk, administrative work, and customer service operations during the pre-open phase. Once the school opens, there will be opportunities for growth and professional development, including the potential to take on an Assistant Head of School role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creation of a strong culture on campus that embodies the mission of our organization
  • Plan and host community outreach events
  • Give tours to prospective families and convert leads to enrolled families
  • Drive the enrollment process, managing leads using a CRM system
  • Manage general, day-to-day operations for the school, including billing, supply ordering, and scheduling maintenance
  • Interface with parents to build community, answer questions, and resolve any concerns that may arise

Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Completed 90 clock hours or the equivalent of approved early childhood coursework (45 hours child development and 45 hours curriculum planning)
  • Early childhood education leadership experience
  • An affinity for connecting with people
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on results
  • Facility with computer systems
  • A high degree of personal initiative
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an Admissions, Administrative, Program or School Director for a preschool
  • Familiarity with the Montessori method of education or a Montessori certification
  • Experience working with Salesforce/CRM and billing software
  • Knowledge of the local community that will inform marketing efforts
