Job Title: Administrative Assistant - Estimating Department

Join Blythe Construction, a leading construction company, as an Administrative Assistant in our Estimating Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support to our estimating and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage routine office activities, ensuring a smooth workflow
  • Coordinate request for quotes for estimating purposes, maintaining accurate records
  • Download and maintain available files for bidding purposes, ensuring timely access
  • Set up projects in estimating software, streamlining the process
  • Manage subcontractor solicitation software, facilitating effective communication
  • Maintain addendums to projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Update estimating software with new information, maintaining up-to-date records
  • Prepare submittals required by owners, meeting deadlines
  • Maintain office supplies for estimating and project management teams, ensuring a well-stocked environment
  • Prepare pre-construction, construction, and post-construction submittals for projects, meeting requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn
Qualification Requirements:
  • To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily
  • Education, Experience, and Skills:
    • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
    • Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
    • Must be well-organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy
    • Must be able to work with constant interruption, maintaining composure
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required
    • Previous experience in construction and estimating is preferred, but not required
    • Strong customer service skills are essential, with a focus on providing excellent support
    • Previous office administration experience in a construction setting is highly desirable
  • Physical Demands:
    • Periodic physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day
    • Employee must be able to periodically stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform key duties
  • Work Environment:
    • Work is performed predominantly indoors, although periodic visits to construction sites or asphalt manufacturing facilities may be required
    • Noise level in the office work environment is typically quiet
