Job Description

Job Summary

The NPI Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the supplier development department in developing and implementing new parts for assigned Battery system assembly projects. This position requires strong collaboration with suppliers to ensure that developed parts meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and meet cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist suppliers in developing and implementing new parts for assigned projects
  • Conduct detailed project plans, schedules, and tactical execution for each part project
  • Provide management overview and reporting on critical project tasks
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding project status and obtain guidance as needed

Supplier Management

  • Assist suppliers in meeting quality requirements during projects and programs
  • Respond to supply shortages and supplier-related issues
  • Conduct value engineering to identify cost savings opportunities
  • Responsible for supplier ISIR review and approval, supplier quality audit

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in supplier development or supply quality management, preferably in the automotive or battery industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in welding and press processes
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience in battery manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design tools
  • ERP experience

Working Conditions

  • Office setting with occasional walking and travel
  • Overtime as needed
  • Frequent travel with possible overnight stays

Domestic and international travel required.
