Data Analyst

24+ month contract

Hybrid (3 days onsite)


Triumph is seeking a Data Specialist for our client in Richmond, VA. The expected duration is a minimum of twenty-four (24) months. The project entails the complete revamping of our client's Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), which includes a replacement of the following legacy systems to be combined into a single centralized solution: Human Resources, Fiscal, Procurement, Grants, and Warehouse & Inventory. This involves the cleaning and integration of multiple data sources, internal and external.

In this position the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing solutions. This work includes analyzing and cleaning legacy data sources, designing and integrating external data sources, data format and architecture documentation, internal review and audit of data outliers, and the creation and/or review of comprehensive data structures. The Data Specialist will work closely with the project manager(s), developers, quality assurance analysts, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data cleansing from multiple database sources working with stakeholders as needed.

  • Help Define Data ownership as requested.
    \t
  • Work closely with stakeholders as needed.
    \t
  • Help define company data assets to populate data models.
    \t
  • Help to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.
    \t
  • Document data-related processes.
    \t
  • Help define and implement data retention policies and procedures in accordance with Virginia State regulations and stakeholder needs.
    \t
  • Support database performance by monitoring, evaluating, and suggesting resolution for processing and programming problems.
    \t
  • Secure database by preparing access and control policies and procedures and implementing disaster recovery procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • \t
  • Extensive experience operating within a software development lifecycle (SDLC).
    \t
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in analysis implementation (10 years preferred).
    \t
  • Expertise in Database Querying (SQL and/or Oracle).
    \t
  • Strong documentation skills.
    \t
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
    \t
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    \t
  • Ability to creatively approach and solve situations.
    \t
  • Well-developed analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
    \t
  • Experience in creating and maintaining a data dictionary.
    \t
  • Strong background in at least one area: Fiscal, IT, HR.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • \t
  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a focus on IT development projects.
    \t
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
    \t
  • Database Querying (SQL, Oracle and/or Crystal).
    \t
  • Understanding of systems development life cycle (SDLC).
    \t
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and practices.
    \t
  • Task entry and tracking via Jira (preferred).
    \t
  • Adept at report writing and presenting findings.
